the pursuit of quality in a fleeting life

nice tattoo MEGGAN.

PSA:  the following story is not meant to offend, discriminate, or insult anyone.  It was a simple, honest, and incorrect observation that just so happened to be very ironic and funny.  Enjoy!

So the other night, Dianna, Kimee, and I met up and headed over to the trusty old Pho Thanh down in Garden Grove/Westminster/or whatever city we were in.  As we were eating our belated dinner around midnight, we were just content in trivial conversation when the Viet-club-crowd started rolling in.  As usual, we made our faces and annoyed remarks, but what really set us over the edge was one particular, scantily clad young woman that sat directly in from of me at the table next to us.

What I noticed first was the tattoo that was permanently afixed to the back of her neck.  Without any racial discrimination, racial thought, racial anything, I read the tattoo and honestly thought it read, “Nigga.”  Dianna was sitting right next to me so I immediately told her to take a look herself and she concurred on the mistaken observation.  In its vertically-skewed cursive, I incorrectly read the girl’s tattoo as “Nigga” rather than “Meggan” if read up close.  It was just so funny that someone would tattoo something on their body that could be inaccurately interpreted as a racial slur. I guess I will never understand other people and the stupid things they do to themselves.

Hmmm…. what should my tattoo read?

aww poor kid. I feel bad for her more than anything. She probably didn’t think it would turn out like that. It’s the tattoo artist’s fault for doing such a bad job.
